Le célèbre acteur, réalisateur, producteur Belgo-Américain et pratiquant d’arts martiaux, Jean-Claude Van Damme a reçu un passeport diplomatique congolais, le mercredi 6 avril 2022. Il l’a fait savoir au cours d’une conférence de presse organisée au Fleuve Congo Hôtel à Kinshasa.
Nommé ambassadeur de la culture congolaise, ce qui a débouché avec l’obtention d’un passeport diplomatique, Van Damme révèle que le président de la République et Chef de l’Etat, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo est derrière sa nomination. Ce titre lui est attribué pour pouvoir débuter sa mission qui justifie sa raison d’être en RDC. Satisfait de cette considération portée en sa personne, Jean Claude Van Damme a remercié les congolaises et congolais pour leur accueil chaleureux. «Je remercie le Congo de m’avoir accueilli avec beaucoup d’amour. C’est avec beaucoup de fierté que je reçois ce passeport en tant qu’ambassadeur. C’est le titre d’ambassadeur pour le rayonnement de la jeunesse du point de vue sport, santé et culture. Il y a aussi le titre d’ambassadeur de la faune pour aider l’écologie du pays, les animaux et la nature. Le Congo est un des deux poumons du monde», a-t-il déclaré. Et d’ajouter : «Il faut préserver. On dépense beaucoup pour aller dans d’autres planètes, il faut fixer cette terre. Il faut se révolter pour sauver cette terre (…). L’autre titre est le titre d’ambassadeur pour les investissements pour le Congo en Amérique, en Asie, etc. Ces pays doivent aider à développer l’agriculture». Rappelons que Jean-Claude Van Damme obtient ce passeport au même titre que Koffi Olomide, Dadju et Maitre Gims pour la valorisation de la culture congolaise et tant d’autres valeurs que regorge la RDC.
