Le vendredi 30 mai 2025, l’Université de Kinshasa (UNIKIN) a été le théâtre de tensions liées aux élections facultaires et départementales. Face à cette situation, le Secrétaire général académique a annoncé la suspension immédiate de toutes les activités liées à ces élections, selon un communiqué officiel rendu public.
Les troubles ont éclaté alors que des étudiants exprimaient leur mécontentement concernant le processus électoral en cours. Des rassemblements ont été observés sur le campus, perturbant le déroulement normal des activités académiques.
Cette suspension vise à préserver la sérénité au sein de l’institution et à permettre une évaluation approfondie de la situation. Les autorités universitaires n’ont pas encore précisé la date de reprise des activités électorales.
Il est à noter que l’UNIKIN a connu par le passé des manifestations étudiantes liées à diverses revendications, notamment en mai 2022, où des protestations avaient conduit à la suspension temporaire des cours .
La communauté universitaire reste en attente de nouvelles directives concernant la reprise des activités électorales et académiques.
