Kinshasa, 21 avril 2025 — La situation sanitaire en République démocratique du Congo (RDC) continue de se dégrader, avec une alerte majeure à l’anthrax signalée dans la région du parc de Virunga, des flambées de choléra à Tshopo, et une crise humanitaire aggravée par les violences armées dans l’est du pays.
Depuis le 22 mars, plusieurs cas suspects d’anthrax ont été détectés au Nord-Kivu, touchant aussi bien la faune que les populations locales. Plus de 50 hippopotames et 3 buffles ont été retrouvés morts, tandis que 8 cas humains suspects, dont un décès, ont été rapportés dans les zones de santé de Lubero et Binza.
Parallèlement, la semaine épidémiologique 15 a été marquée par 2 044 cas suspects, 223 cas confirmés et 17 décès, avec un taux de positivité de 42,48 %. Les campagnes de vaccination ciblée se poursuivent à Kinshasa grâce au soutien de l’UNICEF et à l’arrivée de 3 000 doses de vaccin MVA-BN offertes par l’Espagne.
À Tshopo, le choléra sévit dans six zones de santé avec 627 cas et un taux de létalité inquiétant de 9 %. Dans l’est, l’insécurité reste élevée. Des attaques des Wazalendo et du M23 ont causé plusieurs victimes, tandis que des actes de violence et d’enrôlement forcé se multiplient à Goma.
En parallèle, les inondations touchent quatre provinces, aggravant les conditions de vie des sinistrés, dont certains sont relogés dans des stades à Kinshasa. Les capacités d’accueil étant dépassées, les autorités procèdent à une numérisation des données des déplacés avec l’appui de l’ANICNS.
Face à cette situation complexe, les autorités sanitaires appellent à une coordination renforcée de la réponse humanitaire, une intensification de la surveillance épidémiologique, et un soutien accru des partenaires techniques et financiers.
