Kinshasa, le 5 septembre 2025 – Deux défenseurs des droits humains congolais, Maître Chadrack BUKWEYI du Mouvement Citoyen EKOKI et Gauthier KASONGO du Mouvement Citoyen BISO, sont portés disparus depuis le 27 août dernier dans des circonstances troubles à Kinshasa. Selon la Dynamique des Mouvements Citoyens, ils auraient été interpellés par le Conseil National de Cyberdéfense (CNC), un service rattaché à la Présidence, et sont détenus arbitrairement depuis, sans que leurs familles ne soient informées de leur situation.
Le jour de leur disparition, Gauthier KASONGO avait prévenu son oncle qu’il se rendait à une réunion dans la commune de Gombe, tandis que Maître BUKWEYI attendait un ami sur la même avenue. Depuis, aucun signe de vie n’a été donné. Un ancien voisin aurait aperçu Maître BUKWEYI le 27 août au bâtiment de l’ONATRA, interpellé par le CNC pour un motif flou, avant d’être relâché.
La Dynamique des Mouvements Citoyens dénonce une violation flagrante des droits fondamentaux, rappelant que la détention secrète et arbitraire est interdite par la Constitution congolaise et les traités internationaux ratifiés par le pays. L’organisation appelle à la libération immédiate des deux activistes et à une enquête transparente sur leur disparition, tout en alertant la communauté internationale et les médias pour faire pression sur les autorités congolaises.
« Le peuple congolais mérite de vivre dans la dignité et la liberté. Toute inaction face à ces injustices sera jugée par l’histoire », affirme la Dynamique des Mouvements Citoyens, regroupant plusieurs mouvements citoyens, associations et collectifs de défense des droits humains.
Parmi les organisations signataires figurent BISO PEUPLE, EKOKI, LUCHA, FILIMBI, LES INDIGNÉS, SYNERGIE BILENGE, M30, et de nombreux autres mouvements citoyens engagés dans la lutte pacifique pour la justice et la transparence.
