Depuis 2012, chaque 11 novembre est l’occasion pour la République Démocratique du Congo et d’autres pays du monde, non seulement de commémorer l’armistice de la Première Guerre mondiale mais aussi de rendre hommage à l’ensemble des « morts pour la RDC », civils ou militaires, durant des conflits actuels ou anciens, et plus particulièrement au cours d’opérations extérieures.
Les journées nationales commémoratives ont pour but d’honorer la mémoire de faits d’armes, de grandes figures, de grands combattants, et de victimes civiles et militaires des guerres. Elles sont une expression du devoir de mémoire ; un témoignage collectif de souvenir, de reconnaissance et de considération.
À l’occasion de la cérémonie du 11 novembre prochain, le génie militaire, un des services des forces armées de la République démocratique du Congo, a, dans son rôle d’aménagement de terrain entamé les travaux d’aménagement du rond-point force situé dans la commune de Kasavubu, ce samedi 9 novembre 2024.
Après le lancement dédits travaux, les autorités militaires trouvées sur le lieu ont déclaré que, l’assainissement de ce rond-point historique a toujours été question de volonté, ordres et moyens. Et d’ajouter : « l’armée c’est la discipline. Quand les ordres sont donnés, on passe directement à l’exécution sans discussion ».

Arme de l’aménagement du terrain, spécialiste de la conception et de la réalisation des infrastructures des armées, le génie militaire vient tout droit de la première urgence qui s’est imposée pour la survie de l’homme : aménager le site, construire pour s’abriter, se protéger ou attaquer.
