Kinshasa, 29 janvier 2026 – La vérité finit toujours par rattraper ceux qui la fuient.
Dans le dossier Bukanga Lonzo, l’ancien Premier ministre Augustin Matata Ponyo tente désespérément d’imposer un récit : celui d’un opposant persécuté, traqué pour ses idées. Mais cette version ne résiste pas aux faits. Et les faits, eux, sont implacables.
Selon Jean-Thierry Monsenepwo, Ambassadeur et Président du Conseil d’administration de COBIL, Matata Ponyo n’est ni jugé pour ses opinions, ni poursuivi pour son engagement politique, encore moins victime d’un complot. Il est poursuivi pour des faits de gestion, pour des responsabilités assumées au sommet de l’État, pour un échec financier aux conséquences nationales.
Un procès de gestion, pas un procès politique
Le procès Bukanga Lonzo n’est pas un règlement de comptes.
C’est un procès de responsabilité.
Un procès de vérité.
Des milliards de dollars ont été engagés dans un projet présenté comme révolutionnaire : transformer l’ouest de la RDC en grenier agricole, éradiquer la faim, moderniser l’agriculture. La communication était tapageuse, arrogante, triomphaliste.
Le résultat est connu de tous :
• un parc agro-industriel à l’abandon,
• un champ de ruines,
• un gouffre financier,
• et un peuple floué.
Ce ne sont pas des chiffres abstraits. C’est l’argent du contribuable congolais, dilapidé pendant que des familles continuaient à vivre dans la précarité.
Le choix de l’apaisement… puis le choc de la réalité
À son arrivée au pouvoir, le Président Félix Tshisekedi fait le choix de l’apaisement. La coalition FCC-CACH est mise en place, un gouvernement d’accord politique est confié à Sylvestre Ilunga Ilunkamba, et une promesse est faite : pas de chasse aux sorcières.
À ce moment-là, Matata Ponyo n’est ni inquiété ni marginalisé. Il reste un cadre influent du PPRD, politiquement fréquentable, au point que son nom circule même pour un éventuel retour à la Primature.
Mais tout bascule lors d’une visite officielle à Bukanga Lonzo.
Face à l’état catastrophique du site, le Premier ministre Ilunga Ilunkamba lâche un mot qui restera dans l’histoire :
« Le gâchis. »
Cette image publique brise définitivement le mythe d’un succès.
L’erreur fatale de Matata Ponyo
Piqué au vif, soucieux de redorer son image, Matata Ponyo commet une erreur majeure : il saisit lui-même l’Inspection générale des finances (IGF) pour demander un audit, pensant se blanchir.
Il ouvre en réalité la boîte de Pandore.
Sous la direction de Jules Alingete, l’IGF mène un travail méthodique, sans passion politique. Les conclusions sont lourdes :
• violations des procédures de marchés publics,
• écarts de prix inexpliqués,
• paiements sans contrepartie,
• absence de traçabilité.
Une gestion calamiteuse.
Une faillite morale.
Lors de la séance de contradiction, le ministre délégué aux Finances, Patrice Kitebi, répond.
Matata Ponyo, lui, esquive. Oublie. Délègue.
Pourtant, à l’époque des faits, il cumulait les fonctions de Premier ministre et de ministre des Finances. La responsabilité ne peut être diluée.
De la justice à la victimisation politique
Quand le dossier arrive devant la justice, Matata Ponyo change de stratégie.
Il quitte le PPRD, crée un parti politique, se proclame candidat à la présidentielle bien avant l’heure.
Objectif :
• se fabriquer une immunité politique,
• transformer un dossier judiciaire en combat politique,
• crier à la persécution,
• se poser en martyr.
Pire encore, il franchit une ligne rouge : la tribalisation de la justice.
Il met en cause des juges en raison de leurs origines, oubliant que ce sont ces mêmes institutions judiciaires qui ont validé ses candidatures et ses mandats.
Un comportement indigne d’un ancien Premier ministre, dangereux pour la cohésion nationale.
La vérité, tout simplement

ni le Président de la République, ni l’Union sacrée, ni ses instances n’ont exercé la moindre menace pour forcer une adhésion politique.

Il est rattrapé parce que son passé le poursuit.
