Le numéro de la Commission électorale nationale indépendante CENI en sigle, Denis KADIMA KAZADI, séjourne depuis le mercredi 28 septembre dernier, à Maseru, capitale du Lesotho, en qualité de Chef de mission du forum des commissions électorales des États de la SADC (ECF-SADC) dans le cadre des élections législatives du 7 octobre 2022.
Au lendemain de son arrivée, le numéro un de la Centrale électorale congolaise a présidé une réunion d’orientation au cours de laquelle, il a circonscrit les contours de la mission lui assignée.
Il était essentiellement question pour lui de donner les orientations et les directives et de former les équipes à déployer dans l’ensemble du pays. Cela a précédé les échanges sur les attentes de la délégation.
Cette réunion a connu la participation des observateurs venus de l’Angola, du Botswana, de la RDC, de l’Eswatini, du Malawi, du Mozambique, de la Namibie, de l’Afrique du Sud, de la Tanzanie et du Zimbabwe. Au total, 10 des 16 Etats composant la SADC prennent part à cette mission d’observation électorale.
Dans son intervention, le Président de la CENI est revenu sur l’attachement particulier qu’il voue au Lesotho : un pays qui l’a accueilli en 1998 pour sa toute première mission d’observation électorale.
Pour la réussite de la présente mission, Denis KADIMA KAZADI a désigné comme son Vice-président, son homologue de la Commission électorale de la Namibie. Dans la foulée, une équipe composée de deux membres de la CENI/RDC a été déployée pour observer le scrutin dans quelques bureaux de vote de la capitale. Il s’agit de Mme Joséphine Ngalula et M. Pascal Lipemba, tous deux membres de la plénière de la CENI. Ils ont pu ainsi observer l’élection anticipée dans quelques bureaux de vote de la capitale.
La délégation de l’ECF-SADC a aussi échangé avec les membres de la Commission électorale du pays hôte.
Il importe de noter que pour ces élections législatives du 7 octobre prochain, 65 partis politiques briguent les 120 sièges du parlement et 33 du Sénat.
