Alors que la RDC et le Rwanda viennent de signer un accord historique de paix, Magdallah Kasonga, figure de proue du leadership féminin, appelle le président Tshisekedi à renforcer son engagement en faveur de l’égalité entre hommes et femmes.
L’accord de paix signé entre les ministres des Affaires étrangères de la RDC et du Rwanda, et révélé par Jeune Afrique, prévoit notamment le retrait des troupes rwandaises du territoire congolais, l’éradication des FDLR et une coopération économique renforcée entre les deux pays.
Pour Léontine Magdallah Kasonga, coordonnatrice internationale des dépendants des militaires, policiers et gendarmes dans l’espace francophone, ce tournant diplomatique illustre la puissance du leadership féminin au sein du gouvernement congolais.
« Je remercie le président Félix Tshisekedi pour avoir fait confiance à la femme. La femme peut aller loin avec cette nation », a-t-elle déclaré, saluant ce geste fort en matière de gouvernance inclusive.
Elle rappelle que si une femme peut réussir là où les hommes ont échoué durant plus de 30 ans de souffrances, de conflits et de massacres, cela prouve qu’elle a sa place au cœur des décisions majeures.
« Une femme peut apporter la paix dans une communauté, notamment chez les dépendants des militaires et policiers », souligne-t-elle avec conviction.
Profitant de cette avancée diplomatique, Magdallah Kasonga invite le chef de l’État à renouveler publiquement son engagement en faveur de l’égalité des chances entre hommes et femmes.
Ce n’est pas la première fois que cette militante engagée défend la place de la femme dans les processus de paix. Sur le plateau de l’émission de la journaliste Marlène Malela, elle affirmait déjà : « Une femme est un canal de paix. Si elle peut détruire, elle peut aussi construire. Il suffit de la mettre à l’aise pour qu’elle bâtisse une nation ».
