Les députés Provinciaux du Sankuru ont élu le lundi 29 avril 2024, Christophe Lutundula, Emmanuel Mpesthi, René Kalala et Jules Lodi comme Sénateurs au cours d’une plénière à l’hémicycle de l’Assemblée Provinciale de Lusambo, le Chef-lieu de ladite Province.
Selon Victor KAPOKE, journaliste et correspondant du CHANGEMENT7.NET dans la Province du Sankuru, pour les 4 sièges réservés à cette Province, le Territoire de Lodja avec ses 7 élus sur 25 députés Provinciaux électeurs des sénateurs, n’a obtenu aucun siège au Sénat alors qu’il avait des candidats sénateurs influents dans la course.
À l’en croire, 24 Assemblées Provinciales se sont métamorphosées en bureaux de vote comme d’habitude pour l’élection des sénateurs en République Démocratique du Congo.
Les députés Provinciaux élisent 4 Sénateurs pour le compte de leurs Provinces respectives, à part la Ville-Province de Kinshasa qui obtient le double, c’est-à-dire huit Sénateurs au total.
Pour le compte du Sankuru les quatre Sénateurs élus qui pourront représenter cette Province au niveau de la chambre haute du Parlement, le Territoire de Lodja n’a eu la chance d’être représentée tandis qu’il compte le plus grand nombre des députés Provinciaux parmi les six Territoires que composent cette Province, chose qui n’a jamais existé depuis la création de la Province en 2015.
