Face aux inondations récurrentes qui frappent la ville de Kinshasa, Jeannette Bosingizi Sulia, coordinatrice de l’ONG LOGOS 1er et environnementaliste engagée, a lancé un appel fort à la prise de conscience collective, ce jeudi 5 février 2026.
Intervenant sur la problématique de l’insalubrité urbaine, elle a dénoncé le comportement de certains citoyens qui continuent de déverser les immondices dans les caniveaux, contribuant ainsi à l’obstruction des voies d’évacuation des eaux et, par conséquent, aux inondations.
« Nous sommes tous responsables de ce qui arrive à Kinshasa. Lorsqu’on jette des déchets dans les caniveaux, à quel résultat et à quelles conséquences s’attend-on ? », s’est-elle interrogée.
Pour Jeannette Bosingizi, le changement de mentalité demeure la seule voie capable de sauver la capitale congolaise de cette situation alarmante. Elle estime que l’adoption de bonnes pratiques environnementales est indispensable pour léguer un héritage écologique sain aux générations futures.
S’appuyant sur les Saintes Écritures, notamment Genèse 2:15, elle assimile l’environnement à un jardin d’Éden confié par Dieu à l’humanité pour être cultivé et protégé.
« Notre jardin d’Éden, c’est la RDC. C’est notre environnement, notre chambre, notre cuisine, nos toilettes, nos bureaux, nos caniveaux, nos marchés… Qu’en faisons-nous ? L’État a sa part de responsabilité, mais nous, citoyens, avons aussi la nôtre », a-t-elle déclaré.
Un message fort qui invite à une responsabilité partagée entre autorités publiques et population pour faire face durablement aux défis environnementaux de Kinshasa.
