Convoquant une grande mobilisation ce dimanche 24 juillet 2022 à l’esplanade de la permanence du parti, le Secrétaire général de l’Union pour la Démocratie et le Progrès Social (UDPS) a tapé du point sur la table suites aux propos de son ancien collaborateur Jean-Marc Kabund qui stipule avoir donné le pouvoir à Félix Tshisekedi en lui donnant un moratoire de 48 heures pour retirer sa signature à la candidature unique de l’opposition à l’élection présidentielle de 2018, qui n’était autre que Martin Fayulu.
Pour le SG du parti au pouvoir, ce sont des mensonges. D’ailleurs, JM Kabund tentait un coup suicidaire, celui de sanctionner FATSHI après avoir signé le communiqué conjoint aux côtés de Jean-Pierre Bemba, Moïse Katumbi, Adolphe Muzito, et consorts.
« ce jour là, nous étions à la Fédération de Lukunga pour la présentation des candidats députés de l’UDPS. J’ai appelé la première dame pour savoir a été désigné. Elle me dit que c’est Martin Fayulu. J’ai dit que madame, dites au président que nous n’approuvons pas ce choix là. J’ai réagi sur Top Congo pour dire que « pas question de nous imposer un autre Zaidi Ngoma, paix à son âme » comparativement au conclave de Sun City où un faux opposant avait été désigné. On ne peut pas nous imposer Fayulu qui n’a pas d’assise populaire au pays. Ainsi, les Udpsiens ont vite pris l’initiative de réagir sur la voie publique et brûler des pneus pour exprimer leur mécontentement » raconte-t-il.
Devant les partisans de l’UDPS, Augustin Kabuya affirme avoir été piégé par JM Kabund au lendemain de la désignation du candidat unique, ce dernier a selon lui « préparé un coup pour lui opposer aux partisans ».
« les gens qu’il a préparé m’ont traité de traître. Mais très vite, ils ont été calmé et n’ont pas réussi leur coup. Raison pour laquelle ceux qui m’avaient suivi à la radio m’ont porté sur un Tshipoyi avec maître Peter Kazadi, actuel député provincial » a-t-il ajouté.
Sur cette même lancée, A. Kabuya précise que JM Kabund, secrétaire général à l’époque, avait convoqué une réunion du secrétariat pour tabler sur la signature de FATSHI. Selon A. Kabuya, « Kabund voulait que Félix Tshisekedi soit sanctionner par le parti. Une démarche jugée suicidaire par Kabuya que nous n’avons pas avalisé. Il préparait comment exclure Fasthi de l’UDPS, est-ce qu’une telle personne avait envie de donner le pouvoir à F. Tshisekedi ? On s’est tous opposé à sa démarche. C’est ainsi qu’il demanda comment trouver une voie de sortie ? » poursuit Augustin Kabuya.
L’actuel SG de l’UDPS signale que « c’est la jeunesse du parti qui a joué son rôle et a demandé à ce qu’on accorde un moratoire de 48 heures à Félix Tshisekedi afin de retirer sa signature. Curieusement, il s’est précipité pour annoncer cette décision afin de se racheter, alors que c’est le porte-parole qui devait le faire. C’est ainsi que l’histoire de 48 heures s’est déroulée » a-t-il conclu à ce sujet.
