Anthrax : une épidémie sous surveillance dans le parc des Virunga
Depuis le 22 mars 2025, une épidémie d’anthrax, une zoonose bactérienne, sévit dans le parc national des Virunga, notamment dans les zones de santé de Binza et de Lubero. Au total, 14 cas humains suspects ont été recensés, dont un décès. Chez les animaux, dix carcasses de buffles ont été traitées (six enfouies, deux brûlées, deux en décomposition avancée), et 75 carcasses d’hippopotames ont été enfouies dans les secteurs lac et rivière Ishasha.
Mpox : une flambée inquiétante malgré les efforts de vaccination
Le Mpox continue de se propager, avec 2 693 cas suspects enregistrés pour la seule semaine 16 de l’année 2025. Depuis le début de 2024, 101 228 cas ont été recensés, avec 1 763 décès. Bien que plus de 521 000 personnes aient reçu une première dose de vaccin, les autorités poursuivent les campagnes de vaccination ciblée, notamment dans cinq zones de santé de Kinshasa.
Choléra : résurgence dans les camps militaires et propagation nationale
Le choléra connaît une recrudescence alarmante, touchant particulièrement les militaires basés dans les camps BAHUMA et MURA. Au 25 avril 2025, 752 nouveaux cas et 8 décès ont été signalés pour la semaine 16. Au total, 18 385 cas et 364 décès ont été rapportés dans 12 provinces, dont le Nord-Kivu et le Tanganyika. Une campagne de vaccination est en cours avec la distribution de 52 000 doses dans la province du Nord-Kivu.
Tshopo : épidémies sous haute surveillance
Dans la province de la Tshopo, 140 cas suspects ont été notifiés, contre 161 la semaine précédente. Trois décès ont été enregistrés parmi les cas suivis. Les équipes locales font face à une pénurie de cartouches pour les prélèvements d’échantillons, ralentissant la réponse rapide aux épidémies.
