Mercredi 22 mai, Patrick Onoya, enseignant et chercheur en finance et technologie a animé une conférence de haute facture dans la faculté des Sciences Économiques de l’Université Libre de Kinshasa (ULK) là où il a présenté l’agriculture comme facteur du développement de l’économie en République Démocratique du Congo.
Devant Jean-Lucien Kitima, Recteur de l’Université Libre de Kinshasa (ULK) et de tous les étudiants de la faculté des Sciences Économiques de cet Alma mater, le lobbyiste et stratège en investissement Patrick Onoya a déclaré que sans exception, tout pays développé est une puissance agricole. Par contre, les mines donnent une illusion de richesse pendant que vous êtes pauvres.
Jour pour jour, depuis 70 ans que la République Démocratique du Congo forme les intellectuels, le pays de Félix Tshisekedi n’a jamais eu une économie proprement dite, a expliqué Patrick Onoya.
« Nous sommes venus sur l’invitation du Recteur de l’université libre de Kinshasa pour parler de ce sujet qui concerne l’agriculture comme facteur de développement. Nous avons présenté ici de façon assez directe les difficultés dans lesquelles la RDC se retrouve, nous avons exposé que la RDC n’a jamais eu une économie proprement parler, pour la simple raison que le modèle économique utiliser actuellement par la RDC est un modèle colonial c’est-à-dire basé sur l’extraction de ce qui amène des aberrations telles que par exemple au Haut-Katanga on constate que 69% de la population soufre de mal nutrition selon l’UNICEF pourtant le Haut-Katanga compté le deuxième contributeur dans le produit intérieur brut ».
Et d’ajouter : « Cela démontre simplement que le modèle économique utiliser ne marche pas. Il est important que les intellectuels s’élèvent pour proposer un nouveau modèle économique et le nouveau modèle économique ne peut-être que celui basé sur l’agriculture ».
Selon lui, à ce jour la RDC statistiquement compte plus de 60% de sa population qui est occupée par l’agriculture, mais malheureusement l’agriculture ne contribue qu’à 2% dans le PIB.
Il a aussi démontré que tous les pays développés ont été de puissances agricoles et la RDC ne peut pas faire exception. Il est important si un jour nous voulons être appelé pays émergent de pouvoir devenir aussi une puissance agricole, pour finir dans l’élan d’un exercice scientifique, « nous avons proposé une modélisation du village agricole en se basant sur les écrits de René du Mond dans son livre « l’Afrique noire est mal partie » afin de pouvoir lancer la réflexion sur la réfondation de l’agriculture en République Démocratique du Congo ».
Pour sceller l’alliance entre Patrick Onoya et les autorités de l’ULK, la délégation facultaire (organisatrice) de l’événement du jour a décernée un diplôme d’excellence à ce lobbyiste et stratège en investissement.
